The largest electric and one of the largest automobile companies in the world has released its sales figures for the year 2020. The figures shared by ‘Tesla’ automobile company are very promising and show that the company has been gaining more popularity across the globe.
On January 2, 2020, Tesla shared the figures that it was able to generate for the year 2020. The company started off by sharing the unit figures it managed to achieve in the last quarter of the year 2020. In the fourth quarter of 2020, Tesla confirmed that it managed to deliver 180,570 electric vehicles globally.
Tesla confirmed that with these many sales, it has managed to break all previous records. The automobile company has even exceeded the expectations that Wall Street had with Tesla. The Tesla Company has confirmed that it produced 179,757 vehicles in total in the fourth quarter.
The company also confirmed the total number of electric vehicles it manufactured for the year 2020. The company advised that it produced a total of 499,550 electric vehicles for the year 2020. The company confirmed that it slightly missed its target of producing 500,000 vehicles in the year 2020.
Right at the beginning of the year 2021, an annual shareholder meeting was held and Elon Musk was also a part of the meeting. In the meeting, Elon Musk revealed that Tesla’s projected unit production for the year 2020 was between 477,750 and 514,500.
He confirmed that the company had projected this figure even considering the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic on the global economy.
However, Elon Musk shared his joy as the company managed to break all previous records for the Q4 sales for the vehicles. Prior to the recording-breaking Q4 sales, it was the Q3 of 2020 that held the record for the highest sales. Elon Musk revealed that in the Q3 of 2020, Tesla manufactured a total of 139,300.
As per the recent reports, the unit manufacturing target Wall Street expected Tesla to achieve for the fourth quarter of 2020 was 174,000. However, the company managed to even exceed Wall Street’s expectations by manufacturing 179,575 electric vehicles in the fourth quarter.
The estimation that Wall Street had made was set to 184,000 as of the high-end and 151,000 as of the low end of sales.
Tesla has also confirmed the models it delivered in the fourth quarter of 2020. It revealed that for the fourth quarter of 2020, there are 161,650 Model Y and Model 3 cars delivered all around the globe. The company also delivered 18,920 X and S class vehicles to its clients.
