Tesla has just shared with the entire world that electric cars it has successfully delivered to the consumers and dealers in the 1st quarter of 2021. The electric car company giant has also revealed the total number of electric vehicles it has manufactured in the same period.
Tesla has confirmed that in the first quarter of the year 2021, it has produced a total of 180,338. On the other hand, the company had successfully delivered a total of 184,800 vehicles in the same period.
Tesla has also shared the figures that the analysts were expecting that the company to meet for the said period. As per the analysts’ forecast and predictions, Tesla was expected to deliver 168,000 vehicles for the particular period.
These figures were compiled and shared by FactSet on April 1, 2021, which is a research and data analysis company. The company has revealed that the vehicle delivery range that Tesla had set for the particular period was from 145,000 to 188,000.
Tesla has confirmed that the deliveries it has achieved in the first quarter of 2021 have broken the previous deliveries record it had achieved back in the fourth quarter of 2020. Tesla has revealed that in the fourth quarter of 2020, the company delivered 180,570 vehicles.
The company has confirmed that in the first quarter of 2021, all the vehicles it has delivered/sold are Model Y SUVs and Model 3 Sedans. Moreover, the company did not produce any of its high-end vehicles such as Model X SUVs and Model S sedans.
The company has revealed that there hasn’t been much demand for the high-end vehicles that it has mentioned. However, the company did receive the orders for Model X and Model S but was able to deliver them from their inventory. The company has reportedly delivered a total of 2,020 Model X SUVs and Model S sedans in the first quarter of 2021.
The company has confirmed that the figure it has delivered for Model X and Model S sedans in the particular quarter is just 1% of the total vehicles it has delivered in the first quarter of 2021.
The company has revealed that it now has the necessary machinery and equipment installed as well as tested so it is now ready to go all-out for the production of Model X and Model S vehicles.
During a company performance call held back on January 27, 2021, Elon Musk talked about the production of Model X and Model S vehicles. Musk stated that the company is now getting ready to introduce and produce the latest versions of the Model X and Model S vehicles.
He revealed that the company is planning to launch the Model S vehicles in February of 2021. On the other hand, the Model X vehicles will be produced and delivered in the latter year.
